a quickie before work...

Some sad, happy and interesting things on the blogs today...

I was saddened to hear that June Pointer of the Pointer Sisters has passed away. Both J'ason at Chartrigger and the Sparkpop sites have posted music in tribute to her. Please check them out.

In happier news, there are some heartwarming posters of Kylie up and about on XO's Middle Eight site. It made me smile so much to see Lady Kylie well on her way to recovery :)

Finally, I was going to post Keane's new single today but don't need to as you can get it at Alien Hits From Another Planet... if you haven't heard it, check it out cos I'm dying to know people's opinions. Its very u2, very bitter sounding and although i'm not immediately turned off to it, its no Everybody's Changing...

thats it folks. Proper post later today, one tomorrow then thats ya lot for two weeks!!

I am staying away from the Keane b/c they are a huge enterprise and I suspect a lot of those blogs that post them will be getting cease and desist letters from various recording groups. Don' wan' no trouble!

i thought that actually :( I didn't want to get bitchslapped by Keane. Certainly not the singer anyhoo. maybe the pianist, but he needs to buy me drinks first... ;)

I saw Keane live here in L.A. this past October. They were great, and did a few new songs, one of which may have been this song... can't remember. Anyhow, it really is disappointing that Snow Patrol and Keane's new singles are so anti-climactic.

Fingers crossed for the new one by the Killers? Also, there's a weird free download over on The Killers' official site. It's called "New Track," but really, it's just a 52-second clip of a slowed-down, Spanish-sounding version of "Somebody Told Me." It's on their U.S. site.
