I went to see the movie She's The Man last night...

It was unexpectedly comedy genius. Amanda Bynes has some brilliant facial expressions that reminded me of the days when Ellen (the tv show) was funny... the story was of course predictable but cute. Viola of course transforms into a guy to prove that she can play soccer as good as the guys with "hilarious results" - as predicted by moi, she has a gay best friend to help her in her quest... I really liked this cheesy little flick. It made me want to pretend to be a guy so that i can play soccer brilliantly, become a hero to the guys and make my hot bod blokey room mate fall in love with me - all to a soundtrack of The Faders and The Veronicas. Marv.

Somehow it completely bypassed me, but Erasure's acoustic album Union Street was out on Monday. Am not sure how well it will do as I really had to hunt for it in HMV... My favourite Erasure albums are I Sayx3 and Erasure and both are represented here. Stay With Me is equally as gorgeous as an acoustically strummed plea, but my current fave has to be Piano Song - i loved how its been stripped down and transformed :) There is nothing quite as melancholy as Andy singing "my vulnerability washes over me". Sigh. Its music to my ears. Uh, literally ;)

I previously wrote about The Bishops here... well they ain't got any prettier but I am still just as enamoured with their music. I love their Merseybeat influences and hear that they are a riot live so I hope to get to see them soon...Its rumoured that their second single will be The Only Place I Can Look Is Down and you can check it out on their myspace site as well as get a free download of the mighty Menace About Town. Its like the early 60s all over again...

Hope you all having a bonza weekend...

I will test the Erasure. I LOVE their new version of "Rock Me Gently" - have been playing it all week.

As for that movie, Channing Tatum, the model, is in it. I saw a recent pap pic of he and the star (who are dating) and he has gotten chunky.

I have always preferred Erasure doing their slower songs so the acoustic album is like manna from heaven for me. I feel sad that they seem to have peaked sales wise here...

v v v disappointed to hear that the chiselled features of the ChanChanMan are probably now sagging jowls :( Still it happens to us all. I blame the cheapness and deliciousness of jaffa cakes

She's the Man - is it Shakespearian? It certainly sounds it.
