fall comes early...

well, i'm eagerly anticipating three albums being released this autumn/fall:

  • Robbie Williams - 1974
  • The Killers - Sam's Town
  • Scissor Sisters - Ta_Dah

but thanks to the awesome power of the zapping hotmail account, autumn came a little bit early this morning and i woke up to find the lead off singles from each album cluttering up my inbox. I present them here for your viewing pleasure (or something). I have only listened to each track a few times (bar the killers) so will be updating my thoughts on them in the comments box throughout the weekend. Enjoy!

MP3: Robbie Williams - Rudebox (link)
MP3: Scissters - I Don't Feel Like Dancing (link) (link) (link) (link)
MP3: Killers - When We Were Young (link)

edit: I had a nightmare during my afternoon nap after reading J'ason's post that Robbie, Jake and B-Flo came knocking on my door ready to give me a good pounding for posting their mp3s so i have taken them off. Boo me you probably say...well always with your best interests at heart, there are now links next to them to websites who are brave enough to host :)

You, sir, are a fucking star!

I don't feel like dancing as I never do, but that tune is great.

Oh it's Dan up there! Hi Dan!

Killers nail it, Scissor Sisters nail it (in a sort of mellow way) and Robbie needs to go back and try again.

PS Love the synth on the instrumental part of "Dancin'" just before the bridge

we love a bit of dan on the forum - and its always nice to feel like a "fucking star" (my dad reads this - an older boy made me say that dad!!)

killers track i just am putting in the same category as All These Things I've Done which gives me tingles when i hear it live...

scissters - i just think its a great pop tune, so catchy too. can't wait for the vid.

I need to work on robbie a bit...

I didn't realise you'd posted this, sorry if it seemed I was copying!

Robbie has always been shite but that is so atrociously bad it cannot be serious. Therefore, I like it becuase it's awful. I even blogged about it. Very wrong!

Better luck next album, Robbie. Christ, that was so bad I deleted it from my computer less than a minute and a half into it.

Scissor Sisters... good stuff! The new Killers has been like heroin for me since last Friday.... can't stop injecting it.

what a lovely analogy J'ason :) But a good one - i love that track. I can't wait to hear Bling or any of the frankly will be marvelous Sam's Town...

didn't think you were copying at all Jess!! Just after i posted it i saw it on Homoeclectic too!

Robbie's rudebox (possibly because of my loyalty to the old robster) is growing on me. Its kinda like the bastard child of Rock DJ and Too Funky. With slightly less charm. There is a growing sad realisation in my heart that Robbies glory days (nearly typed hole then!) may be behind him :( Sniff

Paul, step away from the Robbie. It's all over, I'm afraid.

We have not heard Rob's PSB or Orbit collabs, so surely those will redeem him. I am finding it hard to believe his CD will have so many covers though. Which reminds me that it is a sick world where Robbie gets attention that should be directed to Lorraine.

I dunno about Autumn - it feels like Christmas Day. Thanks! The Scissors is flipping ace and as for Robbie, it's abit cheesy. It actually made me laugh out loud but on repeat hearings it does get groovier. I have the remixes of Robbie if you want them - just let me know.

i would love the remixes leon - i hear they are a lot clubbier.

J'ason - if i didn't step away from the robbie after tripping i ain't gonna give up just yet :)

xo - i feel he may have rushed this album out - its less than a year since IC...

Can I just say a massive thanks for the tracks - although I'm not so sure about the Robbie song.

He says "back to basics", but it is so far from the "basics" that he needs to put his head in a pale of water to work out how wrong the song is. I mean, a name check of TK Maxx or whatever it is called this day - oh bloody hell. It is just so bad... it is almost good!?

His album so deserves to be good, but without songs like Angels, Rock DJ or my favourite ever song of his - Feel - how will it do well? Hopefully with some better songs!

Though at least you can't argue the Scissor Sisters' song is quite fab!

i too loved Feel and actually most of escapology which is why intensive care was such a let down for me. Rudebox is not his greatest single or even a good single. still i hold out vein hope for the album

    ps - loving your hotstuff...
