Oooh, I had another piano lesson today and feel all creative all over again. This week I am told my fingering has improved (i knew it would - i've been practising on darren all week!) and I have started to learn the score to Wicked. It's put me in a right good mood...

Not only are Brandon and his boys likely to be tops this Sunday (yes please) with the majestic When We Were Young, but one of my favourite music webchannels is holding an intimate acoustic session with them on October 3rd...usually this comprises of a few of their hits acoustic styl-ee and a cover version...So be sure to bookmark Stripped and then be right back here afterwards to discuss...

Blue Monday:
The return of The Bluetones is always a cause for celebration. Their new self titled album (ooo creative) is a lovely collection of songs about the sadder side of human life and speaks to the outside in us all. Songs like lead off single My Neighbours House give voice to that primal joy you may feel when it's not you when someone else is facing adversity. These are thoughtful, honest songs all flawlessly vocalised by Mark Morris' distinctive tones. And there is a great balance between smooth songs that evoke images of the band playing in a smokey jazz club and others that are just plain bold and brash. The Bluetones still deserve to be flying high...

I doubt it will be as brillo pad as Dr Who, but it's got to be slightly genius - i mean, c'mon! The guy wears a hoodie!! And exudes a little bit of sex appeal (well not in the pic above so much, but trust me). I remain expostulating in impatience...

P.S. Pinkie, since you're chavvy, then embrace it, babe. We'll still love you.

Samuel - I KNOW!!!! Colour me thrilled :)
Instead of replying to all the other good things you posted recently: yay for Wicked, not-yay for Ryan leaving Maroon 5, trying oh-so-hard to not listen to JMac yet, and hadn't heard either version of "I Must Not Chase The Boys"--I like both!
