aah hola amigos! I am off to Barcelona tomorrow for my homomoon so normal service will be interrupted for the period of one week :) However I shall return and leave you with a few snippets to peruse while I am gone:

I heard a couple of songs from Leigh Nash this week who used to be the vocalist in Sixpence None The Richer. I still never get sick of Kiss Me and think she has such a calming melodic tone to her vocals... Her solo sound isn't a million miles from the sound she perfected with her band, but the track posted below so fits my summery romantic mood right now that I just had to share it. Imagine a sunny day in a park or on a beach listening to this with your "special beau"... Now just grab the one you love and shimmy...

I wrote about this band not so long ago here but the track Monster has really grown on me and is turning into one of those anthems that soundtrack your summer like I Predict A Riot was last year... Their debut album is now available to listen to on their myspace site and isn't too shabby. I love this acoustic version of Monster here - i think it gives the song a certain urgency and seeps into your brain and refuses to let go...
Why The Modern are taking forever to release what could be a stunning debut album is beyond me. Sure they haven't set the charts alight, but neither did The Upper Room and they released their marvy album shortly after the second single. Surely we are long overdue for the release of this album?? Here is a low quality but not too bad mp3 of their Human League meets Modern English new single Seven Oceans, which was just great live earlier this year...
Finally, here is the Jordan/Deborah duet Say Goodbye which i posted about a couple of days ago. I love it when Deborah taps the lower register of her voice, which she also did on her single last year Naked... Jordan has already had an ac hit this year so I am hoping this will follow it...And as a bonus a new recording of her 1989 number one hit Lost InYour Eyes...

i am disappointed with my first attempts at hacking myspace by hooking up my mp3 player (which also records sound) to the computer. It does sound pretty weak :( Boohoo. According to the website it should have come out crystal clear. it certainly didn´t. But it will do for now ,)
